Enter Online to Win $250 in Bergenfield Bucks Gift Certificates

Ten $25“Bergenfield Bucks” Gift Certificate Winners to be announced on July 1 st

Bergenfield, NJ, June 11, 2009 – The Bergenfield Special Improvement District (BSID) has announced that it will award ten additional $25 “Bergenfield Bucks” Gift Certificates, good at participating businesses located in the district, to build on the success of the BSID's offer of $250 in gift certificates in May. The “Bergenfield Bucks” Gift Certificates will be awarded in a drawing of online entries received through the BSID web site, www.BergenfieldSID.org . Entries must be received by June 30th, and winners will be announced on July 1 st . The gift certificates must be used by September 30, 2009.

“We were pleasantly surprised by the response to the first phase of the Bergenfield Bucks promotion in May, and the number of people who logged onto our web site to enter,” said Walter Johnson, BSID Chairman. “More and more people from Bergenfield and surrounding communities are discovering that the District is proactive and creative in providing incentives to visit the District, in addition to our convenient free parking, safe and welcoming atmosphere, and the knowledgeable and helpful service that our many family owned and operated businesses provide,” Johnson added.

“Promoting Bergenfield's business district as a great place to shop and dine, and to live and work, sends a positive message about our community and what we have to offer,” noted Bergenfield Councilman Carlos Aguasvivas, who serves as a liaison to the BSID's Board of Directors. “Combined with BSID's supplemental services in areas like landscaping and maintenance, efforts like this Bergenfield Bucks promotion underscore the effective public/private partnership between BSID and the borough,” he concluded.

The Bergenfield Bucks promotion was designed to draw attention to the Bergenfield Business District's many niches, like home improvement businesses, offering more choices than local malls. The term “Mall in a Mile” has become an appropriate description of Bergenfield's business district based on its amenities, diverse products and services, and its wide range of dining options.

The Bergenfield Special Improvement District was created in 1998 to help improve the local economy and overall commercial climate in the Borough of Bergenfield. Through an active series of programs and initiatives including facade and signage upgrades, parking and streetscape improvements, special events and marketing and public relations efforts on the district's behalf, BSID has helped Bergenfield become the commercial destination of choice for many residents of Bergen County and Northern New Jersey.
